QHow compressible is PE foam tape, and will it recover after compression?
Closed-cell PE foam recovers close to 100% after short-term compression. For long-term load or gap compensation we recommend choosing density (typically 60-120 kg/m³) and thickness (0.5-3 mm stock) matched to your expected compression cycle and recovery time.
QIs PE foam tape waterproof / suitable for sealing?
The closed-cell PE foam carrier absorbs almost no water, so the tape doubles as a gasket / sealing strip in many applications. Final sealing performance depends on compression set, joint design and surface contact — we can recommend a tested construction for window glazing, façade panels and appliance gaskets.
QWhat gap thicknesses can PE foam tape bridge?
From about 0.5 mm to 6 mm carrier thickness for stock products; thicker constructions on request. Pair with the right adhesive system (acrylic for outdoor, rubber for indoor quick-stick) to get a stable bond across uneven surfaces.
QWill PE foam tape yellow or degrade outdoors?
With acrylic adhesive and white PE foam, outdoor service life is typically 5-10 years depending on UV load and temperature. Black PE foam is more UV-tolerant. White foam will gradually tone but does not lose mechanical properties in the same range.
QIs PE foam tape paintable or printable?
Standard PE foam is not paintable. Printable / paintable variants use a coextruded top layer — ask for our printable grade if the part needs to be decorated after lamination.
QCan PE foam tape be supplied as die-cut gaskets?
Yes — converted rolls or kiss-cut / die-cut gasket parts to drawing, supplied on rolls or as individual pieces. Common for appliance panel gaskets, electronics spacers and façade EPDM alternatives.
