QWhat is OPP film tape used for?
OPP (oriented polypropylene) double-sided tape is mainly used for laminating, label mounting, packaging closures, envelope sealing and graphic overlay where thin profile and clarity matter. It handles heat better than tissue-backed tape and is stable under most converting processes.
QWhat thickness of OPP tape should I choose?
0.06-0.1 mm for label stock and laminate thin films; 0.1-0.2 mm for general mounting and packaging closures. Heavier adhesive coat-weight gives higher tack on rough substrates — talk to us about balancing adhesive vs. carrier thickness for your application.
QCan OPP tape withstand high-temperature converting?
Yes. OPP carrier is dimensionally stable up to ~140°C short term, which makes it friendly to die-cutting, hot-stamping and oven-cure processes compared to tissue or PVC carriers.
QDoes OPP tape yellow over time?
Clear OPP stays clear; coloured OPP is pigmented. Acrylic-based OPP adhesive has good UV stability and resists yellowing better than rubber-based adhesives over time.
QWill OPP tape bond to silicone-coated release paper?
Yes — we supply matched release-liner / OPP constructions for label stock. Let us know whether the finished laminate needs to be punched, laser-cut or printed so we can specify the right liner.
QIs OPP tape food-contact / medical compliant?
Standard construction is not certified. We can supply food-contact or low-migration adhesive systems on request; certification documents are project-specific.
