FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about Acrylic Foam Tape

Which tape is suitable for outdoor use?
For many outdoor applications, a tape with a suitable acrylic adhesive is generally preferred because acrylic systems typically provide better aging and weather resistance than general-purpose hot-melt adhesives. Final suitability should be confirmed by substrate, temperature range, moisture exposure and service life.
How do I choose the right thickness?
Suitable thickness depends on surface condition, gap size, required compression and application method. Thin tape suits smooth surfaces; thicker, more compressible foam compensates for uneven surfaces and larger gaps. Sample testing is recommended before mass production.
What surfaces can the tape bond to?
It can be used on metals, glass, painted surfaces, wood and selected plastics. Adhesion varies by adhesive system, surface energy, cleanliness and application pressure. Low-surface-energy plastics such as PP and PE may need a selected adhesive or surface treatment.
Is the tape waterproof?
Closed-cell foam absorbs very little moisture and supports sealing. However, the final moisture resistance of the bonded assembly depends on the adhesive system, substrate, compression and installation conditions.
What is the difference between acrylic, rubber and hot-melt adhesive?
Acrylic generally gives better aging, temperature and weather resistance. Hot-melt provides fast initial tack and a more economical solution for indoor use. Rubber gives high initial tack for fast indoor mounting. Choose by substrate and service environment.
Can the tape be customized?
Yes. LubandArt can customize adhesive system, thickness, width, roll length, release liner, core, die-cut shape, printing and packaging according to project requirements.
